Ralph Towner has been an innovator in the modern music soundscape for more than forty years. Composer and guitarist for the acoustic jazz ensemble Oregon, Towner has also cultivated a rich solo career as well as memorable musical collaborations with great modern musicians such as Keith Jarrett, Gary Burton, John Abercrombie, Jan Garbarek, and Gary Peacock. His now historic recordings on ECM records have won the prestigious Deutscher Schallplattenpreis award, as well as four Grammy nominations. For decades, Towner’s cosmopolitanism of classical music aesthetic and jazz have put him in the company of Keith Jarrett and Chick Corea as a major solo artist.
