Saint Louis Chamber Chorus: Love Dances

Co-sponsor: Performing Arts Department

TICKETS

On Sunday, February 11th, Philip Barnes directs the St. Louis Chamber Chorus in Love Dances, a choral concert exploring the themes of dance and time.  The choir is particularly delighted to return to Washington University’s 560 Music Center for its 62nd season because the concert hall’s two grand pianos provide the perfect opportunity for welcoming a pianist, and departing from our traditional format of unaccompanied music.  With love in the air so close to Valentine’s Day, the Chorus will take a rare foray into repertoire for choir and two pianos – the joyous Liebeslieder Waltzen of Johannes Brahms and the arresting Agnus Dei of Missouri-born Emma Lou Diemer. This will be followed by Morten Lauridsen’s rapturous Les Chansons des Roses, and a brand new commission from British composer, Francis Pott.  Don’t miss the opportunity hear these uncommon works, and support the choir’s 62nd season.

For tickets or additional information, visit chamberchorus.org or call 636-458-4343.

Featuring choreography by Rachael Servello (MFA Candidate in Dance) to Emma Lou Diemer's "Agnus Dei" with dancers from the Performing Arts Department.
