Jazz at Holmes: Voices of Freedom, Songs of Social Justice

Jazz at Holmes and the Department of Music present a concert Thursday, November 2 where jazz and folk music meet in the sphere and spirit of songs of social transformation.  The music of the 1960’s and 70’s is explored by R. Scott Bryan and Rick Schuler, songwriters and singers of the great modern American songbook.  Jay Oliver, piano with William Lenihan, guitars, bass, banjo, mandolin form the core of the group.  Music of Dylan, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Nina Simone, John Coltrane and traditional songs of the cultural movement of the 60’s form the program.
