BIOGRAPHY

Katie Beth Smith is a masters candidate in piano performance and pedagogy at Washington University in St. Louis.  Katie Beth graduated with a B.M. in music history from the University of Missouri as a Phi Beta Kappa in 2010.  Her historical studies were overseen by Dr. Michael J. Budds and Dr. Judith Mabary, while her pianistic and pedagogical studies were directed by Dr. Julie Knerr and Dr. Janice Wenger.  Katie Beth now studies both performance and pedagogy with Professor Annette Burkhart.  She is currently the teaching assistant for a section of undergraduate class piano under the supervision of Professor Amanda Kirkpatrick.


Katie Beth has been a private teacher and freelance collaborator in the St. Louis area for nearly six years.  She maintains a private studio and accompanies for both the Kirkwood Children’s Chorale and the adult choir at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Kirkwood.
