Gary Peacock returns to Washington University with his trio including pianist Marc Copland and drummer Mark Ferber. Peacock, long-time bassist in the Keith Jarrett Trio with Jack DeJohnette and sideman with icons Bill Evans, Miles Davis, Paul Bley and Albert Ayler also stands as leader on many record dates on the ECM label. His collaborations with Jan Garbarek and other European musicians has contributed to his international reputation. Peacock stands nearly alone now in his generation of bassists stemming from the post-bop and lyrical improvisers of the 1960's. His inventive and thoughtful solos and adventuresome accompaniments to the great pianists of our time are core to his legend. Their concert presentation promises lyrical and mature interpretations of jazz standards and free improvisation.
