Biographies:
Jenny Tian is a junior at Washington University in St. Louis, where she is pursuing a double major in music and physics and a minor in computer science. 

Jenny comes from Beijing, China. She was a violinist in her high school’s symphony orchestra and has won the first place in the Orchestral Performances division in 2013 Beijing Students Art Festival. She has lived in Champaign, Illinois where she studied at University of Illinois and played the violin in Illini Strings Orchestra and Jasmine Field Orchestra. 

At Washington University, Jenny studies composition with Dr. LJ White. She has worked with professional chamber ensembles and musicians such as the Gaudete Brass quintet, the Momenta String Quartet, Eighth Blackbird, soprano Alexandra Smither, violist Wendy Richman of International Contemporary Ensemble, and members of Chamber Project St. Louis. Her upcoming projects include a new work for flute, clarinet, horn, glockenspiel, violin, cello and harp.

Jenny studies violin with Kyle Lombard and voice with Kelly Daniel-Decker. She plays the violin in a string quartet coached by Amy Greenhalgh.

Gail Hintz holds a bachelor’s degree in piano performance from Webster College, a master’s degree in vocal accompanying and coaching from the University of Illinois, and spent a year in Paris studying piano at the Ecole Normale de Musique. She then worked as a vocal coach/accompanist in New York City for several years, coaching singers and serving as music director/pianist for various regional opera and musical theatre companies and tours. Gail moved back to St. Louis in 1989, and currently coaches singers privately, accompanies rehearsals for the Saint Louis Symphony Chorus, plays for the Metropolitan Opera district/regional auditions in St. Louis, works on the music staff at Eliot Unitarian Chapel, and enjoys free-lance work at St. Joseph Academy, Winter Opera Saint Louis, Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, Washington University, and The Muny.
