Representation & Responsibility: #Time'sUp, #MeToo, & Women in Opera

This panel discussion will focus on topics related to the #MeToo and #Time'sUp movements, as well as the portrayal of women in opera.

The 90-minute conversation will be followed by a light reception. It's free to attend, but RSVPs required due to limited capacity.

ADRIENNE DAVIS
Washington University William M. Van Cleve Professor of Law & Vice Provost
Adrienne Davis is renowned for her scholarship and teaching on gender and race relations, theories of justice and reparations, feminist legal theory, and law and popular culture.

MONICA DEWEY
Soprano
Monica Dewey was last seen at Opera Theatre in Blitzstein 's Regina (2018), and she will return for the 2019 season as Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro.

HEATHER HADLOCK
Associate Professor of M usic at Stanford University
Heather Hadlock 's work focuses on 18th and 19th century French and Italian opera, feminist criticism and gender studies, and French Romanticism.

HANA SHARIF
Artistic Director Designate at the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis
Hana Sharif is an artistic leader, director, playwright , and producer who has launched play development programs, expanded  community  engagement  initiatives, and  produced  award-winning  shows.
