PhD Candidate Daniel Fister awarded a Margery Lowens Dissertation Research Fellowship

The Margery Lowens Dissertation Research Fellowship is given out annually by the Society for American Music to support students’ research in the early stages of the PhD dissertation process. Recipients receive up to $4,000 to spend on travel, books, media resources. Daniel Fister was awarded funds to support his ethnographic research for his dissertation, “Scholastic A Cappella and the Construction of Whiteness, Community, and Power.”
