Todd Decker, professor and chair of music in Arts and Sciences, has been appointed an International Chair at LabEx-H2H, a French humanities institute affiliated with the Université Paris 8 (Vincennes-Saint Denis). Decker will spend four weeks in Paris this fall. He will guest teach graduate seminars in film studies and theatre history and deliver a public lecture on his book, Hymns for the Fallen: Combat Movie Music and Sound After Vietnam (forthcoming from University of California Press). Decker will also participate in the fourth of six biannual conferences produced by Musical MC², an international research partnership on Hollywood musical film involving public events, bilingual publications, and the creation of digital research tools.
