    Chinenye is a Ph.D. student in Musicology with a focus on Ethnomusicology at Washington University in Saint Louis. She holds an N.C.E degree in Music Education and Saxophone Performance from Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education Owerri, and a bachelor’s degree in music education from University of Nigeria, Nsukka, with a research project on “Comparative Analysis of Indigenous Localized Gospel Music in Southeast Nigeria.” Her other research work includes, “An Experiment in Cultural Transformation: The Incorporation of African Popular Styles into the Traditions of the Ikorodo Dance Ensemble.” Her current research is on Egungu Festival: The Forms and structure of Music in Elegun Meje Festival in Modekeke Area of Osun State, Nigeria. Chinenye’s research interest Includes African Women on the Global Stage, Traditional Music Festivals, and Music of the African Diaspora in General.  Chinenye is the founder of Dest Music Academy in 2020.  She is also a Co-founder of the Music Student Association of Nigeria in 2019.
