The Axiom Quartet is a dynamic and passionate string quartet that plays chamber music for all music lovers. However, not just any music; all music, all genres, and with no boundaries or limits. Axiom is known for presenting programs that mix classical string quartet repertoire, classical transcriptions, new compositions, and popular rock, electronic, indie, jazz and pop genres in a single concert experience. Extending from their passion for expressive music from across the Western tradition, Axiom Quartet presents concerts of varying genres turning classical fans towards extraordinary popular music, while serving as classical music advocates to those who normally do not attend classical concerts. Their concerts are frequently sold out.
The individual players of Axiom, Dominika Dancewicz and Ingrid Gerling - violin, Laura Krentzman - viola, Patrick Moore - cello, have decades of combined experience performing internationally as soloists, chamber musicians, and orchestral performance. The Axiom Quartet serves as outreach ambassador for Chamber Music Houston, one of the Houston’s top chamber music presenters. The CMH collaboration allows the group to perform their innovative programs in communities where access to live music is limited. Axiom has also performed with the nationally recognized “Harmony in the Air” program and presented weekly concerts at Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport. Axiom is the first classical string ensemble to ever play at Cave Without a Name in the Texas Hill Country. For the past four years they have played in the cave for overflowing audiences.
The quartet is also the Quartet-in-Residence for the School of Music at the University of St. Thomas in Houston, TX. The group also released their first album “Axioms-Moments of Truth” which was a commercial success and sold out within 24 hours of being released on Amazon. In the summer of 2018 Axiom toured this album in 12 concerts in 20 days throughout China. The quartet is also touring the Midwest and appearing as soloists with university orchestras in the fall of 2019.
