2013-2014 Washington University Concerto and Aria Competition

The Washington University Symphony Orchestra is pleased to announce the Concerto and Aria Competition for the 2013-2014 season.  The competition is open to all currently enrolled undergraduate Washington University students or Washington University graduate students enrolled as music majors.  Applicants should present a single movement concerto or one movement from a standard concerto or be prepared to sing two arias.

Accompaniment is required.  The Department of Music will provide up to $100 in compensation for the accompanist of the competitor's choice.  The competitor is responsible for accompanist fees over $100.

The winner will perform with the Washington University Symphony Orchestra on February 28, 2014 and will receive a Friends of Music $500 merit award.   The winner will be chosen at the discretion of the judges and all decisions are final.  The winner will need to be available on all Mondays in February 2014 between 7:30 and 10:00 p.m.
