Biography:
Sam Weinhouse, class of 2021, is a senior at Washington University, majoring in Music, and has played the clarinet for 13 years. At Washington University, Sam performs with the Symphony Orchestra and Wind Ensemble. He also is in his second year playing with the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra. Having grown up in Boston, he attended the New England Conservatory preparatory program for four years, playing in numerous ensembles including the Sr. Massachusetts Youth Wind Ensemble and the Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, where he was fortunate enough to go on tour to Prague and Norway respectively. In addition, Sam was also first chair in the Massachusetts All State Wind Ensemble in 2017. He also attended the Boston University Tanglewood Institute, playing in the wind ensemble in 2017, where he was able to travel with his chamber group to Boston and perform in the Hatch Memorial Shell on the Charles River Esplanade. Apart from music, Sam is on the pre-medical track, hoping to attend medical school after his gap year.
