Singers Performance Workshop: Broadway and Musical Theater

Developing performance skills for student singers is the focus of the Singers Performance Workshop. Great emphasis is place on the ability to communicate the telling of a clear story through music, text, vocal technique, diction and movement. The course affords students an opportunity to develop basic performance skills for rehearsal, auditions and performance. This class is designed to include students at all skill levels from beginning to intermediate to advanced. The class will include both golden age and contemporary musical theatre works. Past classes have studied and performed excerpted scenes from "Les Misérables," "Hamilton," "Chicago," "On the Town," "Carousel," "Phantom of the Opera," "The Secret Garden," "Bye Bye Birdie," "My Fair Lady," "Pippin," "Dear Evan Hansen" and more. The semester's work will culminate in a final class performance. Prerequisite: audition and permission of instructor.
