Todd Decker (Paul Tietjens Professor of Music) has just completed a three-year term as editor of the journal American Music, the oldest scholarly journal devoted to the topic. Two of Decker's PhD students, Dan Fister and Rachel Jones, worked as editorial assistants. To close out their time at the journal, this all-WashU team created a special issue celebrating the fortieth anniversary of the journal, with over thirty authors from across the field offering their views of the future of American music scholarship.
