Rachel primarily studies contemporary American popular music and film and television music. Her prospective dissertation will examine the fandom, critical discourse, and heterogeneous generic output of They Might Be Giants (1982-present). Her other interests include barbershop aesthetics and socialities, adaptation studies, and gender and feminist studies. She is also an editorial assistant for the peer-reviewed quarterly journal American Music.
