About Christopher Stark
Christopher Stark is a composer of contemporary classical music whose area of expertise is the combination of acoustic and electronic instruments and techniques. Stark earned his M.M. at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and his D.M.A. from Cornell University.
Stark has been awarded prizes and commissions from the Fromm Foundation at Harvard University, Chamber Music America, the Orléans International Piano Competition, and ASCAP. His music has been programmed, commissioned, and performed by such ensembles as the Buffalo Philharmonic, American Composers Orchestra, Los Angeles Piano Quartet, New Morse Code, the Momenta Quartet, and the Aspen Contemporary Ensemble. In 2012, he was a resident composer at Civitella Ranieri, a fifteenth-century castle in Umbria, Italy.
